A Positive Record for Stoke City Players

During these two weeks of international fixtures, Stoke City players performed exceptionally well. One of the standout performers was goalkeeper Viktor Johansson, who had two highly successful appearances for Sweden in the UEFA Nations League.

Johansson faced several challenging tests, proving himself to be a key figure between the posts. Sweden won both of their matches, defeating Azerbaijan and Estonia, earning 6 points. Johansson saved a penalty against Azerbaijan and kept a clean sheet against Estonia, although he did concede one goal to Azerbaijan.

Youngsters Jadon Dixon and Sol Sidibe also played at a high level with England U18, featuring in three friendlies against Portugal, Switzerland, and France. Unfortunately, all three matches ended in draws. In the match against Portugal, Dixon and Sidibe played important minutes from the start, while they came off the bench in the second half against Switzerland and France.

Sidibe provided an assist in the match against France, leaving a positive impression about both players and the promising project Steve Schumacher is building at Stoke City. The club's youth continues to shine, displaying their talent and potential.

As the return of domestic leagues approaches, Steve Schumacher and Stoke City are eagerly anticipating the match on September 14, when they will once again feel the excitement of competition. Several players will be available for selection and eager to take part in the match against Oxford United.
