Team Australia and Harry Souttar will be looking to stay alive in the World Cup on Wednesday when the team takes on Denmark — Wednesday’s match for Australia will mark the team’s third and final game of the group stage. So far through two matches, Australia sit at second in Group D with three points (coming from one win against Tunisia).

“The Socceroos” can move into the knockout stages of the tournament with either a draw or win on Wednesday. The only scenarios that eliminate Australia from the tournament, would be either a loss to Denmark or a draw against Denmark and if Tunisia beats France.

The great news for Australia though, is that France have looked like one of the best teams of the tournament. Therefore, a Tunisia win seems very unlikely and Australia moving out of the group stage of the World Cup seems to squarely hinge on a positive result.

Harry Souttar To Be Tested Again on Wednesday

Stoke City center-back Harry Souttar played a key role in Australia’s 1-0 win over Tunisia. Now against Denmark, Souttar will most likely be relied on again to help stamp out Denmark’s tricky attack.

Even though Denmark have only scored one goal so far this tournament, thanks to the likes of Christian Eriksen, Mikkel Damsgaard, and Jesper Lindstrom Denmark will once again be on the hunt for goals — Which will once again challenge Harry Souttar and the rest of Australia’s backline.

Win or lose on Wednesday, Harry Souttar will have a big say in how Australia’s final World Cup tale is written this year. Another big performance for Souttar could help see “The Socceroos” into the knockout stages of the tournament.
