Stoke City picked up a massive three points in their fight to avoid relegation, securing a 2-1 away victory against Hull City in Matchweek 30 of the EFL Championship.
The win comes at a crucial time for the club, which has struggled with inconsistency throughout the season and has seen multiple managerial changes before settling under Mark Robins.

Ali Al-Hamadi, making his debut, found the equalizer just before halftime in the 43rd minute. The team continued to push in the second half, and Andrew Moran secured the winning goal in the 74th minute to complete the comeback.
Johansson’s Goalkeeping Masterclass
While the goalscorers played a significant role, the true standout of the match was Swedish goalkeeper Viktor Johansson.
The 25-year-old delivered a world-class performance, making seven crucial saves, four of which came from inside the box. His reflexes and shot-stopping ability frustrated Hull City’s attack, preventing what could have been a much different outcome.

Beyond his saves, Johansson was heavily involved in the game, registering 42 touches. However, his passing accuracy was somewhat inconsistent, completing only 16 of 29 attempted passes (55% accuracy).
He also struggled with long balls, successfully delivering only 10 out of 23. Despite these passing difficulties, his goalkeeping heroics ensured Stoke City conceded just once, proving his immense value to the team.
Johansson’s outstanding display rightfully earned him the MVP of the match, solidifying his status as one of the top goalkeepers in the EFL Championship. With performances like this, Stoke City now has a strong foundation to build upon as they fight to climb the league table and avoid the drop.
