With the FIFA date, national teams are preparing for their upcoming international tournaments, providing minutes for Stoke City players as they await their return to training with The Potters on July 1st. Some shine for their national teams, while others struggle.

In a preparatory match for Spain ahead of EURO 2024, they faced Northern Ireland, who are out of the EURO and have no international competition this June. However, their match against Spain was chaotic, with Spain ultimately securing the victory.

Playing Time for Jordan Thompson

The Stoke City central defender played 45 minutes in the defeat against Spain, coming on at the start of the second half for Eoin Toal. As a central defender, he didn't suffer much in the defensive zone. When the Stoke City player came on, the match was already 4-1 in favor of Spain, and with him on the field, they conceded only one more goal, ending the match 5-1.

During his 45 minutes of play, Jordan Thompson had 16 touches and an 86% pass accuracy (6/7). For the Stoke City player, these minutes were important, especially competing against one of the best national teams in the world, facing some of the best players in Europe.

Northern Ireland's next match will be against Andorra on June 11th, where the Stoke City player hopes to see more minutes and, most importantly, secure a victory. After this match, Thompson will have a long break before returning to training with Stoke City on July 1st and will see his first preseason match on July 11th as preparation for the 24/25 season.
