A Positive Rout for Steve Schumacher

As mentioned earlier, Stoke City's starting eleven was fantastic in the first half, and the team overall performed at a very high level, particularly in the attack, where they finally showed their effectiveness after a painful defeat against West Brom Albion in the EFL Championship.

The scoring in this match opened in the 14th minute with a goal from Emre Tezgel, following a fantastic assist from Lewis Koumas, who continues to be heavily involved in every game since his recent arrival and seems determined to maintain his spot in The Potters’ starting lineup.

The first half ended with a 1-0 lead, but Stoke City remained focused on extending the score in the second half. In the 57th minute, Ryan Mmaee scored to make it 2-0, and just a few minutes later, Lewis Koumas added a third, continuing his fantastic start with Stoke City.

It took only 5 minutes after Koumas’ goal for Million Manhoef to come on and score a quick double, netting the fourth goal in the 65th minute and the fifth in the 69th, just three minutes after coming onto the pitch. Manhoef proved to be a vital substitute for Steve Schumacher, who capitalized on the team's strong momentum to seal a 5-0 victory and advance to the next round.

Stoke City now finds some relief in this competition, but they must return to the EFL Championship, where they will face Plymouth Argyle away on August 31st. Stoke will be aiming to secure a win to end their run of two consecutive defeats in the EFL Championship.
