As the transfer window draws to a close, there have been plenty of rumors surrounding Stoke City's search for offensive options. It appears the club has found a very promising player who, despite his young age, could fit perfectly into Steve Schumacher's tactical plans.
The injury to Sam Gallagher, which came with high expectations, has caused significant setbacks and set off alarms within the team. Now, Stoke City is urgently looking to replace him with a young signing who can make an impact this season.

Stoke City Looks to the Australian Market
While exploring options in the Australian A-League, Stoke City has identified a highly promising 19-year-old player. Thomas Waddingham has been making headlines recently due to his impressive performances with Brisbane Roar last season.
This young striker broke into Brisbane Roar's first team during the 2022-2023 season, making a name for himself by scoring four goals in just five appearances, with a total of 359 minutes played. His goal contributions were impressive for someone so young.
In the following season, Waddingham played in 24 matches, scoring seven goals and providing one assist in approximately 1,500 minutes of game time. His standout performances have caught the eye of Stoke City, who see him as a hidden gem in a less-known league. Steve Schumacher is reportedly very interested in bringing this player to the team.

However, Stoke City isn't the only club interested in Thomas. Hull City is also keen on the young striker, but The Potters are determined to do whatever it takes to bring him to England to compete at a high level. Thomas Waddingham has already made his debut for Australia's U20 national team, where he scored two goals in two matches in 2023. It's expected that he will soon receive a call-up to the senior national team.
For now, Stoke City is not only focused on these last few days of the transfer window but also on their upcoming EFL Championship match against West Brom Albion at home on August 24.
