An Exciting Match for Stoke City’s Young Players

Both 17-year-olds were competing at the highest level during this international break, representing their national team in what was a fabulous friendly match to showcase the young talents of English football. While both players started on the bench, having played significantly a few days earlier in a friendly against Portugal U18, they were given a bit of rest but eventually saw action on the pitch.

They came on in the second half to face Switzerland U18, entering what had become a very tough match, with England already leading 1-0 after a goal in the 42nd minute. Both players contributed to the team’s offensive efforts, displaying their talent, though unfortunately, Switzerland managed to equalize in the final minute, scoring a penalty in the 90+7 minute to make it 1-1.

The match then went to a penalty shootout, which ended 5-5, with Sol Sidibe scoring his penalty, demonstrating his composure in such a crucial moment. The game finished 1-1, with the penalty shootout giving Stoke City's Sidibe another chance to show his skills.

With this performance, Sol Sidibe continues to position himself as part of Steve Schumacher's plans as they eagerly await the return to the EFL Championship, with every player coming off this international break in great form.
