Stoke City’s Preseason to Begin in July

Stoke City's preseason will involve a comprehensive preparation to find the perfect formula for tackling the 2024/2025 EFL Championship season, with the aim of securing another opportunity to return to the Premier League.

This preseason will be highly beneficial for giving playing time to new signings, academy players, and, most importantly, consolidating a strong starting lineup for the EFL Championship, which kicks off on August 10th.

During this preseason, five friendly matches will be played to assess the players' fitness and form after their vacation period. The players will return to training on July 1st, with the club having already designed a schedule for the entire preseason.

Here are the matches to be played before the EFL Championship begins:

Thursday, July 11: Chester FC vs Stoke City
Wednesday, July 17: Cork City vs Stoke City
Tuesday, July 23: Crewe Alexandra vs Stoke City
Saturday, July 27: Stockport County vs Stoke City
Tuesday, July 30: Bolton Wanderers vs Stoke City

It will be important to secure the ideal signings for Stoke City, bringing in players who meet the highest performance and objective standards to tackle the season. All of this work will be evaluated based on the efforts made in July.

Hoping to reach a high level during these dates, it is expected that Steven Schumacher’s work will be instrumental in returning to the top glory in England by competing in the Premier League once again. However, first, they will have to navigate a competitive schedule in the 2024/2025 season.
