Stoke City’s Position in the EFL Championship
• Very few goals scored in the early stages of the season, with hopes that the team’s finishing improves
• Two signings were made at the end of the transfer window, with their debuts expected against Oxford United

After completing four rounds of this Championship, we can see that Stoke City is positioned near the middle of the table, having had some very positive and some very negative matches.
So far, Steve Schumacher has done an important job with the club, building on last season and this year’s preseason. The start has been promising, but there are many areas that need improvement. It’s expected that, with the work Schumacher is doing with the squad, better results will come in the upcoming matches, helping the club secure a place to compete for promotion back to the Premier League.

Stoke City currently sits in 11th place
After four matches in the EFL Championship, Stoke City is currently in 11th place with 6 points. They share this position with Sheffield United, Oxford United, and Derby County, who all have six points, but due to goal difference, Stoke City is at the bottom of this group.
Looking at the goals, Stoke City has conceded five goals and scored only three in these four matches. Out of these four matches, they’ve won two by the slimmest of margins, while their two losses have been painful, particularly the heavy defeat against Watford and the loss to West Brom Albion.
It’s now hoped that during this break, Stoke City will be able to work hard and recover fully to be in the best possible shape for their match against Oxford United, which will take place on September 14th away from home. Much is expected from this team under Steve Schumacher’s guidance.
The signings made in the final stretch of the transfer window have been promising, especially with Tom Cannon expected to make his debut and compete at the highest level with Stoke City. Similarly, Tatsuki Seko, who was signed from Japan with high expectations as a midfielder, is also expected to make his debut against Oxford United.
For Stoke City, it has been a somewhat positive start to the season, but with several ups and downs. The team has yet to find the back of the net consistently in the EFL Championship, but in the EFL Cup, they’ve already reached the third round. It appears that the team is focused on competing for this trophy, along with the EFL Championship, while also keeping an eye on the upcoming FA Cup.
