After the season ended some time ago for Stoke City, the focus has shifted to making significant moves in the transfer market, aiming to find the essential players to bring joy to The Potters' fans.

Two crucial signings have already been confirmed for the club, focusing on strengthening the defensive area. These include the Swedish goalkeeper Viktor Johansson and Ben Gibson, a central defender with extensive knowledge of the EFL Championship.

With these two important additions, Stoke City is now focusing on finding a forward who can positively contribute to the team's goal tally. This search for a reliable striker is critical for The Potters.

Stoke City Interested in 24-Year-Old John McAtee

Stoke City has shown interest in John McAtee, a 24-year-old striker from Luton Town, who was recently on loan at Barnsley FC. Upon his return to Luton, The Potters have expressed interest in inquiring about McAtee. This English striker is attracting attention not only from Stoke City but also from several other EFL Championship teams.

McAtee has experience in both the EFL Championship and League One. However, he has yet to settle at any one club, as he has been loaned out and moved between clubs without finding a permanent home.

McAtee's best season was the last one, 2023/2024, with Barnsley FC, where he played 40 matches, scored 12 goals, and provided 4 assists. He also played in the Play-Offs against Bolton Wanderers, where he provided an assist, although Barnsley did not advance to the final and secure promotion to the EFL Championship.

It will be interesting to see how this 24-year-old forward could bring his game intelligence to Stoke City, being a player capable of scoring and stepping up when the team needs him the most.

Currently, this interest remains just a rumor for Stoke City, who will need to carefully consider their options in the market to attract the most capable striker to contribute to The Potters' goal-scoring efforts.
