These former players are Alan Hudson and Peter Thorne, who were part of the club many years ago, which now competes in the EFL Championship. Hudson's era was in the 1970s and part of the 1980s, while Thorne was an impressive goalscorer in the 1990s and the early 2000s.

Peter Thorne's Goal-Scoring Tenure at Stoke City
Joining the club in 1997, Thorne became a standout striker for Stoke City. He spent five seasons wearing The Potters' jersey, playing 164 matches and scoring 69 goals, a phenomenal statistic for the English forward.
His best season at the club was in 1999/2000, where he participated in 45 matches and scored 24 goals in what was then the second division of English football.
Midfielder Alan Hudson and His Time with The Potters
Arriving at the team in 1974, Hudson was a highly positive addition to the club. He spent five consecutive seasons with Stoke City before moving to Arsenal. However, in 1983, he returned to spend his final years as a player with The Potters.
He played 142 matches and scored 9 goals wearing Stoke City's jersey. His strong bond with The Potters was evident, as he retired after playing his final season in 1985.
