The Great Stint of the Spaniard at Stoke City
Bojan joined Stoke City in the 2014-15 season, a significant period for the team as they were competing in the Premier League. During that season, Bojan made a strong impact by playing 18 matches, scoring 5 goals, and providing 1 assist, accumulating over 1300 minutes of play.
He spent around five years with the club, amassing a total of 85 appearances, 16 goals, and 3 assists during his tenure in England. Despite his promising start, Bojan had to say goodbye to Stoke City in the 2018-2019 season, moving on to the MLS to play for Montreal. However, his impact there was not as significant as it had been with Stoke City.
Eventually, he announced his retirement from professional football in 2022 after playing for Vissel Kobe, where he appeared in 26 matches, scored 1 goal, and provided 3 assists. Although Bojan didn't quite fulfill the early promise of his career, his time at Stoke City remains memorable. Announced a decade ago, his tenure at The Potters was marked by both highs and lows.
He was part of the team during one of its toughest periods, including the season they were relegated to the Championship. In that season, Bojan played 21 matches and scored just one goal, marking the end of his journey with the team.
Bojan's time at Stoke City was an interesting chapter, even as the club faced significant challenges. Despite not becoming the superstar many had hoped, he left an indelible mark on The Potters and their fans.
