At the BET 365 stadium, Stoke City played their last match of the 23/24 season against Bristol City. This match was highly anticipated as both teams were coming off a positive streak of victories in their recent games.

On May 4th, Stoke City had the chance to end the season with a victory, giving The Potters' fans a happy ending after finishing mid-table in the EFL Championship, neither competing for promotion to the Premier League nor facing relegation to EFL League One.

The first half of the match saw all the action, with Stoke City determined to win by fielding a 4-2-3-1 formation.

The starting lineup was: Iversen - Hoever, Wilmot, McNally, Stevens - Laurent, Thompson - Manhoef, Cundle, Bae Jun-Ho - Campbell.

A Fantastic Match on the Final Day of the EFL Championship

The first 45 minutes were thrilling, with Stoke City taking the lead at the 25th minute thanks to a stunning goal by Luke Cundle. The goals kept coming, with Tyrese Campbell scoring at the 45th minute, followed by Million Manhoef's goal at 45+2, making it 3-0 by halftime.

In the second half, the pace slowed down a bit, but The Potters' energy remained high, as demonstrated by Million Manhoef scoring again at the 59th minute, securing his brace and making it 4-0. Bristol City responded by making four substitutions, effectively conceding the match.

This match is fondly remembered as Stoke City provided their fans with the joy they needed to end the season, heading into the off-season with the satisfaction of not having suffered a last-match failure.

Now, the focus shifts to the transfer market, which began in June. So far, The Potters have made two signings, Viktor Johansson and Ben Gibson, with more expected before August as they prepare for the 2024/2025 season.
