Following the dismissal of Steve Schumacher after Stoke City's 1-0 defeat to Hawks Fornited on Matchday 5 of the EFL Championship, the English manager was relieved of his duties for failing to meet expectations in the project that was built during the transfer window.

Now, it has been officially announced who will replace him and become the permanent manager for The Potters this 2024/25 season. This appointment follows significant talks with one of the young and promising managers in the Championship, who will now take charge of Stoke City.

Narcís Pelach Named New Stoke City Manager

The 36-year-old coach has had a positive career trajectory in recent years, showing great promise despite his youth. Pelach now takes the reins at Stoke City after previously managing Girona, Huddersfield Town, and Norwich City. He joins The Potters on a three-year contract.

Stoke City's sporting director, Jon Walters, emphasized the importance of securing the Catalan manager, calling him a coaching prodigy with strong foundations developed during his time in Spain. Walters noted Pelach's time at Girona, a club that, under his guidance, has now reached the heights of competing in the UEFA Champions League.

The expectation for Pelach is to deliver positive results, leveraging his familiarity with the league to build a solid foundation for success. Stoke City's ambitions are clear: they aim to challenge for promotion to the Premier League. Pelach's competitive spirit and coaching style are seen as crucial to meeting the club's standards. His connection with both the sporting staff and the players will be key to achieving these goals.

With Stoke City advancing to the next round of the Carabao Cup and the EFL Championship still in its early stages, Pelach will have the opportunity to steer the team in the right direction. His debut match will take place against Hull City on September 20.
