The talent that Stoke City has with Million Manhoef is significant, and expectations grow with every passing day. Unfortunately, we have witnessed how the 22-year-old player has not shown that crucial spark in the team's offense in recent matches.

His performance has dropped significantly. Earlier in September, Manhoef was in great form, particularly during his international duty with the Netherlands U21 team during the FIFA break. In two matches, he scored two goals and provided an assist, showing strong stats that set him up nicely for his return to the EFL Championship.

Million Manhoef’s Performance Against Middlesbrough

In a very difficult match for Stoke City, Manhoef didn’t have his best performance of the season. Unfortunately, he only played 55 minutes before being substituted due to a physical issue, which could be a concern for The Potters. Sam Gallagher replaced Manhoef at the 55th minute to preserve him for upcoming EFL Championship fixtures.

His statistics were positive but not as impactful as expected from such an important player. He had 23 touches and completed 92% of his passes (12 out of 13). He also played a key role in trying to create clear attacking opportunities for Stoke City, attempting five dribbles and successfully completing all of them. Despite his speed and dribbling ability, he wasn’t able to penetrate the final third effectively.

It has been a tough period for the entire Stoke City squad, as seen in their match against Hull City. Manhoef played the full 90 minutes but didn’t have a significant influence on the game, which ended in another defeat for Stoke City.

In that match, Manhoef had 49 touches and an 88% pass completion rate, a stat that wasn’t as decisive as expected after playing the entire match. More was anticipated from him, especially in terms of contributing to the attack.

The team is now hoping that Manhoef can return to his earlier form, the one we saw at the beginning of the season and during the pre-season. Stoke City faces Portsmouth on October 2nd, and the team will need Manhoef to be a key player and continue showcasing the immense talent he brings to The Potters' squad.
