Emre Tezgel Shows Perfect Form with Stoke City U21
• Determined to show Narcis Pelach he’s the future of the team
• High expectations surround the young English player

One of Stoke City’s most important young players from preseason, Emre Tezgel, has shown great promise since catching Steven Schumacher’s eye in friendly matches and selected games where he sharpened his skills last season.
However, despite this positive start, the 2024-2025 season has been different. At just 19 years old, Tezgel has yet to secure a regular role this season, though he has delivered solid performances in his limited appearances for Stoke’s first team.
Currently, Narcis Pelach hasn’t given Tezgel many chances, a shift that began with the departure of Steven Schumacher. Under Pelach’s management, Tezgel has only played 40 minutes so far, which has been a point of concern for the young striker, especially as he’s expected to be an important asset for Stoke City in the coming years. His statistics, considering his youth, are promising. So far, he’s appeared in nine games for the first team, scoring two goals in roughly 300 minutes.

Standout Performance with Stoke City U21
Tezgel recently played for Stoke City U21 in the England National League Cup against Forest Green, and the match allowed him to showcase his potential. Given his experience with the first team, he was expected to excel, and he didn’t disappoint. Tezgel scored all four goals in Stoke’s 4-0 win, completing his "poker" in just 49 minutes. Impressively, only one of his goals came from a penalty, with the other three scored in open play, further highlighting his skill and confidence on the field.
This strong performance has helped Tezgel regain confidence and has reignited hope for more first-team opportunities under Narcis Pelach. Expectations are high, and he may even get a chance to play in the upcoming match against Blackburn Rovers. After his stellar performance, he was substituted in the 60th minute, having delivered a nearly perfect display on the field.
