Bae Jun-ho performed brilliantly with South Korea in two matches during the World Cup 2026 qualifiers in Asia. In his first match on October 10th, he played against Jordan, where South Korea secured a 2-0 victory.

Bae Jun-ho entered the match from the bench in the 51st minute, replacing Ji Sung Eom. He made a significant impact in those 39 minutes, delivering a key assist for the second goal in the 68th minute. He also recorded 38 touches, completing all 29 of his passes with 100% accuracy. Additionally, he took two shots, one of which was on target but was saved by Jordan’s goalkeeper in spectacular fashion.

In the second match of the qualifiers, South Korea faced Iraq in a highly challenging game. Bae Jun-ho started and played 59 minutes, during which he made a significant contribution on the left wing. He assisted Se-hun Oh’s goal in the 41st minute of the first half.

Throughout his 59 minutes on the field, he had 55 touches and completed 77% of his passes, successfully delivering 27 out of 35 attempts. Though not as effective in passing, he showed his importance in attack for his team. He successfully completed 2 of 3 dribbles and won several duels against Iraq. Bae Jun-ho was eventually substituted to give Seon-min Moon, another key player, a chance to contribute to the team.

Now, Bae Jun-ho is expected to return to Stoke City and continue performing at his best in the EFL Championship, where head coach Narcis Pelach will rely heavily on him.
