Michael Rose Turns 29

Stoke City’s central defender is celebrating his birthday, and the team has been commemorating another year of his life. Since his arrival last season, Rose has been a key figure for The Potters.

He joined Stoke City in the 2023-24 season from Coventry City, where he played around 40 matches last season, racking up over 3,200 minutes on the field. These are impressive statistics, and the club is hopeful that he will continue to perform at a high level to help Stoke City during this new campaign.

So far this season, Rose has competed in five matches, even scoring a goal in the Carabao Cup. He has been a vital part of the defense, and at 29 years old, he still has a lot to offer the club. In the EFL Championship, he has played in four matches, accumulating 216 minutes. Unfortunately, he dealt with a serious ankle injury that kept him out of several games early in the season.

However, Rose has gradually recovered, so much so that he played the full 90 minutes in Stoke City’s recent matches against Portsmouth and Swansea City. He was pivotal in the 6-1 victory over Portsmouth and provided a solid defensive performance in the 0-0 draw against Swansea.

The hope now is that Rose will continue to contribute after his recovery and perhaps become a crucial player under Narcis Pelach, solidifying his role as a starter.

At 29, Rose still has the potential to improve his game, and his experience will be vital for Stoke City this season and beyond, as the club looks to build a future project where he could be a key player every year.
