Following Stoke City’s 3-0 win over Hartlepool on Sunday in the FA Cup, the club had two factors to wait for in order to learn who their next FA Cup opponent would be. The first factor for The Potters was the actual FA Cup opponent draw itself. And then the second after the draw, was to wait for the conclusion of the Aston Villa/Stevenage match to see who would advance.
Now fast forward to later on Sunday and Stoke City now know which team emerged victorious — Against underdog odds and with a late comeback, Stevenage were able to score two very late goals to overcome a one goal deficit and eliminate Aston Villa in the FA Cup.
That now sets up a fourth round FA Cup matchup for Stoke City versus Stevenage in late January — With a slew of Championship matches ahead though, the exact date and time of that FA Cup match will most likely be released sometime within the next week.
