Coming out of the holiday weekend and into another week of Championship action, Stoke City find themselves at 17th on the table with 29 points. That places The Potters five points out of playoff promotion position, but still just five points out of relegation position.

In Monday’s Boxing Day match, Stoke City will again try their luck against Rotherham United this season — In Stoke City’s prior match against Rotherham earlier this season, The Potters found themselves walking away with no points in a 1-0 loss at home.

However, in Stoke City’s last match against Rotherham United, The Potters were able to control 68% of possession. So this time around on the road, Stoke City will be hoping they can possibly turn the same amount of match control into points.

Injuries wise for Stoke City, the club has been without forward Dwight Gayle and right wing-back/fullback Dujon Sterling in recent weeks. The club will be hoping on Monday that both or either player can suit-up in the matchup.

The definitive good news for Stoke City though, is that manager Alex Neil will be in the dugout for the match after battling an illness late last week against Bristol City.
