Stoke City players are currently doing a six-a-side team of their choice on Stoke City’s twitter account, with that we thought it would be fun to do our dream Stoke City four-a-side team.

Gordan Banks

The only man in recent times that rivals Banks would be Jack Butland, unfortunately for Butland, Banks is simply on another level, while he wouldn’t be much help offensively, Banks would most definitely be able to prevent goals coming in. In four-a-side football, the goalkeeper is a pretty important position and for that reason, you have got to pick the best, Gordan Banks is most certainly the best.

Stanley Matthews

The Wizard of the dribble simply has to be in any Stoke City dream team, be it four-a-side or best eleven. With Matthews in the team, opposition teams will have a hard time trying to get the ball off him, creating havoc which is most certainly what you want in your star man. With the ability to pick the perfect pass as well, having Matthews in your team is like getting a Modric and a Messi at the same time, what a bargain.

John Ritchie

With Stanley Matthews in your team, chances are obviously going to be created but they still need to be buried. There is no better man than John Ritchie at the art of goalscoring, something Benik Afobe might need lessons on soon, Ah, the thought of Matthews and Ritchie combining makes my spine tingle with delight.

Eric Skeels

The attack might be sorted but the defence needs some bolstering up. Eric Skeels is a man that can play every outfield position and brings the same quality and dedication to every position he plays. In four-a-side football, versatility is key with only four members on your side, if Stoke City were dominating then Skeels could play as a midfielder but if another team was on top Skeels could play as a defender, such skill in so many different positions is why Skeels is Stoke City’s record appearance holder.
