New Stoke City signing Jesé Rodriguez is impressed by the Potters’ ambition and is ready to help reach them.

It was officially announced on Wednesday that Stoke City signed Jesé Rodriguez on a one-year loan deal from French giants Paris Saint-Germain. This could be the signing that Stoke City fans have been longing, especially after losing Marko Arnautovic to West Ham over the summer.

Jesé has spent the majority of his professional career with two of the biggest clubs in the world, Real Madrid and PSG. After spending the first half of 2017 on loan to Las Palmas, where he scored three goals in 16 appearances, Jesé told reporters that he felt motivated to sign a year long loan deal with Stoke City:

"I am very happy to be here, a new opportunity and a new challenge in the Premeir League. I have never had an opportunity like this here so I am very happy to have the chance to show what I can do. I want to work hard and help the team.I have chosen Stoke because it is a team that wants to grow and evolve in the Premier League and to reach the European spots."

It is great to see the Potters making an exciting signing like this. Against Everton, the side struggled to create much with the majority of our attacking chances coming from Shaqiri. With Jesé Rodriquez’ signing, Stoke can be now more unpredictable in the attack. More attacking midfield support could also lead to a revitalized Saido Berahino up front who hasn’t scored once in 14 appearances.

Our biggest flaw last year was the inability to score goals, only hitting the back of the net 41 times in 38 games, an embarrassing average of 1.08 goals per match. Bringing up that average would easily make those lofty European ambitions seem a little less crazy in the coming years.
