A fair few things have gone on over the last week. So it’s only fair to have quick round up. A behind closed doors game, that elbow and the women’s team took on Huddersfield. This is the week that was.

Wednesday’s behind closed doors friendly

Not the weekend by a long stretch of the imagination but this is worth a mention, especially as Saido Berahino found the net. Not once, not twice but three times. The game was against Canadian outfit FC Edmonton. Not the greatest of opponents but the hatrick will do wonders for his confidence.

Xherdan Shaquiri

It emerged that Mark Hughes is willing to listen to offers for Shaquiri in the summer. A.S Roma have piped up already claiming they will give Xherdan an escape route. From what I’m not exactly sure, but judging on some twitter comments, the fans aren’t happy.

It’s not just Xherdan rumoured to be leaving.

If you believe The Sun then Mark Hughes is about to partake in a huge summer clear out. This will include the likes of Bojan, Marc Muniesa and Joselu.

Glenn Johnson Phil Bardsley and Charlie Adam have all been told they are “playing for their future” by the club. Hughes is rumoured to be looking to cut the squads average age as well as get rid of dead wood.

Who’s coming in?

At a press conference on Friday Mark Hughes confirmed a deal has been set with FC Porto for Bruno Martins Indi. It is now down to agreeing personal terms.

Luke Shaw and Barcelona B captain Sergi Palecia are names being thrown around at the minute.

That elbow

As most will be aware Glenn Whelan caught Joe Allen with an elbow. Glenn seemed to acknowledge this fact but then changed his demeanour after seeing Allen hit the floor. Whelan clearly thought Joe had made a meal of it and a bit of “a to do” followed. I wish I could be in the first training session back.

The U18’s went to Spurs

James Butlers 9th minute own goal opened the scoring for Spurs. It looked like it was going to be one of those days when Jamie Reynolds found the onion bag 3 minutes later. 2-0 down after 12 minutes didn’t deter the Stoke youngsters and they fought back to draw 2-2. Tyrese Campbell and  Jordan Greenidge with The Potters goals.

The women thrashed Huddersfield.
