Stoke City midfielder Joe Allen celebrates his 27th birthday today, as we take a look back at all six of his goals from the 2016/17 season thus far.
#1 vs. West Bromwich Albion
Allen scores his first goal for Stoke against the Baggies, a simple tap-in in front of the home fans produced a special moment at the bet365 Stadium.
#2 vs. Manchester United
For the second consecutive week, Allen finds the back of the net, as he slots home the finish after the initial chance hit the crossbar. This was a huge result for the club, with Allen’s goal helping Stoke earn a point against Manchester United.
#3 vs. Sunderland
This is the first of two goals against Sunderland for Allen, he heads home this Marko Arnautovic cross to open the scoring.
#4 vs. Sunderland
The Welshman scores a fantastic goal from outside the 18, as he completes his first brace for the club. He netted four goals in three consecutive appearances during this fine run of form.
#5 vs. Leicester City
Allen is in the right place at the right time, dispatching his fifth goal of the season after a shot hit the post and fell kindly to the midfielder.
#6 vs. Crystal Palace
One of the best moments of the season from Allen is this goal against Crystal Palace, he sends home the match-winning goal to give Stoke a much needed three points on matchday 25.
Allen has been a fantastic signing for Stoke, he’s been able to produce for the club and currently leads all players on the roster in goal scoring. As the final weeks of the season are upon the Potters, the production of Allen will be needed further. Overall, the Welshman has been an excellent addition to the squad and has become a fan favorite.
