Stoke City have six players currently on loan throughout Europe, let’s take a look at how they’ve performed this season.

Jakob Haugaard

The Danish goalkeeper was sent on loan to Wigan Athletic in the January transfer window and has made seven appearances in all competitions for the club. Haugaard has recorded two clean sheets and allowed nine goals in his playing time thus far.

Phillipp Wollscheid

The 27-year-old defender has had a rough time at Wolfsburg, after being dropped from the squad in December, Wollscheid has struggled to find minutes. He only made three appearances in the Bundesliga. More recently, he has been featured on the club’s U-23 side, playing in the German fourth division.

Ryan Sweeney

Sweeney has been a solid player for Bristol Rovers after making the move to the League One side in January. The 19-year-old defender was a big part of the club’s unbeaten run earlier this month and has appeared in ten matches.

Bojan Krkic

Although Bojan is not expected to return, the midfielder has been getting solid minutes for Mainz in the Bundesliga. He’s made a total of four appearances, two of which he started.

Joselu

After only scoring four goals in 22 appearances for Stoke, Joselu is showing what he can do in La Liga. The striker has scored three goals in 14 appearances for Deportivo de La Coruña, including a massive goal against Barcelona last weekend. This loan may be just what he needs to regain his goal scoring confidence.

George Waring

It’s been a loan filled season for Waring, the young striker was at Shrewsbury Town in the beginning of the season before moving to Carlisle United in January. He’s made six appearances for the League Two side but has yet to score. At Shrewsbury, he recorded one assist in 18 appearances.
