Former Stoke City Midfielder Charlie Adam Calls It A Career

Former Stoke City midfielder Charlie Adam announced on Wednesday via social media that he’s retiring from football after 19 seasons.

Adam joined The Potters back in 2012 and would go on to appear 179 times over his eight seasons with the team. In those appearances, Adam would tally his second-most goals total with any club, with 20 goals, per FBRef.com. Seven of those seasons were for Stoke City in the Premier League.

Adam had some memorable goals and moments over his years at Stoke City. One of his most notable and memorable goals being the goal he scored from midfield against Chelsea in 2015. That goal would tie the game 1-1. Stoke City would go on to lose the game 2-1. But, it still ended up being one of the best goals of the Premier League season that year.

Over his career, the Scottish international additionally played for Liverpool in the English Premier League, the Rangers in the Scottish Premier League, both Blackpool and Reading in the Championship, and most recently Dundee in Scotland.
